WEDDING RECEPTION FLOWERS AT THE ORANGERY, MOUNT EDGCUMBE
Wedding Reception Flowers at The Orangery Mount Edgcumbe
Nestled within the historic Mount Edgcumbe Country Park in Cornwall, The Orangery stands as a testament to 18th-century elegance and architectural beauty. Constructed in 1775 by Thomas Pitt, this Grade II listed building boasts floor-to-ceiling windows that flood the interior with natural light, offering panoramic views of the meticulously landscaped Italian Garden and its enchanting mermaid water fountain. Encapsulated by mature bay trees, The Orangery provides an idyllic setting for weddings, combining historical charm with modern sophistication.
A Floral Journey at The Orangery Mount Edgcumbe
When approached by a couple who had previously exchanged vows in Las Vegas, our mission was to design and craft a visual masterpiece of wedding reception flowers at The Orangery Mount Edgcumbe. The brief was clear: create tall-standing table designs in blush, ivory, and white hues to complement the venue’s high ceilings and elegant ambiance.
Designing for Impact: Tall and Low Table Arrangements
To achieve a harmonious balance, we opted for a combination of tall and low centrepieces. The tall arrangements drew the eye upward, accentuating the grandeur of The Orangery’s architecture, while the low designs provided an intimate touch, fostering conversation among guests. Each round table, adorned with pristine linens, featured these alternating arrangements, creating a dynamic and cohesive aesthetic.
The Top Table: A Cascading Floral Statement
For the top table, we designed a lush, elongated arrangement abundant with roses—the couple’s chosen bloom. Cascading ivy added a touch of natural elegance, creating a focal point that seamlessly integrated with the venue’s verdant surroundings.
Additional Floral Elements: Enhancing the Venue’s Elegance
To further elevate the reception space, we incorporated a floor-standing arrangement by the seating plan, serving as a welcoming feature for guests. The wedding cake was adorned with three floral corsages: one crowning the top tier and two gracing the sides, ensuring a consistent floral theme throughout the event.
The result was a reception that exuded elegance and sophistication, with floral designs that harmonized with The Orangery’s historic charm and the couple’s vision.
