Hello!

I’m Marina, owner of Artem Florum floral design, based in Devon. I’d like to share a little bit about myself and how I’ve come to work within the world of flowers.

For me, flowers hold so much as they fill our senses with joy and memories. I have always loved flowers. In fact I have always loved nature. As a child I always wanted to be outside and this still remains the same today. I love walking in the woods, on the moors, and the beach – anywhere really! Nature grounds us and gives us a sense of ‘being’. I think that is why, quite often, my designs are inspired by nature. I love bringing ‘the outside inside!’ This is how I was inspired to create Artem Florum floral design, so that I could share my passion with like-minded flower enthusiasts!

My Story

I’ve spent the majority of my working life as an Interior Designer and property developer in London and abroad. I loved creating beautiful spaces for people to live in but I wanted a change. I’d also worked as an Aromatherapist, where I discovered the healing powers of flowers and their scents. When I decided that I wanted to move from London the obvious choice was to relocate back to Devon where I grew up. I wanted to reconnect with nature and immerse myself in a career that I really loved.

I studied Floral Design at the Academy of Floral Art which is a Royal Horticultural Society, Gold Medal winning floristry school in Devon. I met some amazing people there. My tutors were so talented and encouraged me to follow my dream. A big ‘thank you’ goes out to them!

Becoming a Floral Designer seemed to me to be a natural way to combine my passion for flowers and having fulfilment in doing what I love to do every day!

So that is how it all began and now my passion is to create organic, imaginative designs that are different and personal to you.
