Rockbeare Manor: Wedding Flowers by Artem Florum

When it comes to celebrating your special day in the heart of Devon, there’s nothing quite like the natural beauty and timeless charm this region offers.

Recently, I had the pleasure of working on a stunning wedding at Rockbeare Manor, near Exeter – a venue that perfectly embodies the elegance and history that so many couples seek for their wedding day.

Rockbeare Manor: A Timeless Setting

Rockbeare Manor is a Grade I listed manor house surrounded by acres of beautiful parkland. The grandeur of this historic venue provides a breathtaking backdrop for any celebration. With its sweeping staircase, elegant reception rooms, and stunning gardens, it’s easy to see why so many couples fall in love with this location. The manor’s combination of classic architecture and serene, natural beauty makes it an ideal setting for the kind of organic, romantic floral designs that I specialise in.

Laura and Kayu’s Wedding: A Celebration of Love and Nature

For Laura and Kayu’s wedding, the brief was to create relaxed, organic designs with a blush, peach, cream, and white colour palette. The goal was to achieve a romantic vibe with a natural, flowing look that would enhance the venue’s elegance without overpowering it.

Bridal Bouquet and Throwing Bouquet

The bride’s bouquet was a delicate composition of roses, dahlias, dendrobium orchids and scabiosas in soft blush, peach, cream, and white tones.  Additionally, I created a special throwing bouquet—a lovely tradition that allowed Laura to toss a bouquet to her bridesmaids without parting with her cherished bridal bouquet. This little touch added a fun, yet sentimental moment to the day.

Wrist Corsages for the Bridesmaids

Rather than traditional bouquets, the bridesmaids wore wrist corsages with flowing ribbons. This modern twist not only complemented their dresses but also allowed them to enjoy the day without the need to carry a bouquet. The corsages were designed to match the overall floral theme, with soft blush, peach, cream, and white tones that tied the whole bridal party together beautifully.

Ceremony and Reception Arrangements

Two stunning pedestal arrangements were crafted for the ceremony, featuring a lush mix of pastel peaches, blushes, creams, and whites. These arrangements were also enjoyed during the reception providing continuity and elegance throughout the day. The versatility of these designs allowed them to serve as a focal point in multiple locations, maximising their impact.

Table Centrepieces: Elegant Focal Points

For the reception tables, I designed elegant centrepieces in footed, ceramic white bowls. These arrangements featured a beautiful selection of dahlias, blushed roses, scabiosa, veronica, and lisianthus. The combination of these blooms created a lovely focal point for each table, adding an element of elegance and charm that harmonised perfectly with the overall design scheme. The white ceramic bowls provided a timeless and sophisticated base, allowing the soft blush, peach, cream, and white flowers to truly shine.

Mantelpiece Masterpiece

Finally, a floral display on the mantelpiece in the reception room added a layer of warmth and romance to the evening. Overflowing with blooms, this arrangement drew the eye and created a cosy, yet sophisticated atmosphere for the couple’s celebration.

A Grand Staircase Display

One of the standout pieces was a floor-standing arrangement at the base of Rockbeare Manor’s impressive staircase.

This design was a true showstopper, filled with towering delphiniums and gladioli for height and a rich mix of roses, astrantia, astilbe, lisianthus and other blooms to create depth and volume. This design added a touch of drama and elegance as guests entered the manor, setting the tone for the entire celebration.
